Regenarare 2023

In July 2023, Julia Adam Dance (JAD) unveiled Regenerare, an immersive outdoor experience that carried forward the company’s signature fusion of contemporary ballet, communal dining, and reverence for the natural world. Set against the rolling hills of Tara Firma Farms in Petaluma, California, the multi-evening event invited audiences into a celebration of resilience, renewal, and reconnection.

Julia Adam’s choreography—renowned for its emotional nuance and poetic storytelling—was brought to life by her gifted ensemble, including long-time collaborator Oliver Halkowich. The performance explored our collective ability to adapt, evolve, and rise through adversity, resonating powerfully in a world still recalibrating after the pandemic.

Regenerare stood as a testament to JAD’s unwavering commitment to art that builds community, honors place, and restores the human spirit. In a time marked by disconnection, the event offered a luminous reminder: healing begins when we gather—heart, body, and soul—in shared presence.

The evening began with a walk or tractor ride to the hilltop, where a 100-foot-long communal table stretched beneath the open sky. Guests were welcomed with a multi-course, family-style feast, crafted by returning chefs Matt Roberts and Matt Elias. The menu featured locally sourced ingredients from regional purveyors such as Tara Firma Farms, UmbelRoots, Feed Sonoma, True Grass Farms, and Holistic Ag. Wines from Enkidu and Shokrian, craft beers from Hen House and Moonlight, and house-made non-alcoholic offerings rounded out the feast—each sip and bite grounding guests in the abundance of the land.

Each Julia Adam Dance experience is a labor of love—woven from the land, shaped by artists, and sustained by community. If you’ve been moved by our performances, inspired by our commitment to connection, or nourished by a night under the stars, we invite you to consider supporting our work.
